| ENERGY COMMITTEE TODAY APPROVED THE NOMINATION OF DAVID GARMAN TO BE UNDER SECRETARY OF ENERGY | |

Washington, D.C.– The Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee today approved the nomination of David Garman to be Under Secretary of Energy during a business meeting held at 11:30 a.m. in SD-366. Garman was approved by voice vote. Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) requested that he be on the record in opposition to the nomination. Chairman Domenici’s statement: “Mr. Garman is an outstanding candidate with exceptional credentials. I am impressed by his work as Assistant Secretary in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. His extensive energy background in the executive and legislative branches of government will be a tremendous asset to his success as Under Secretary of Energy. I look forward to working closely with Mr. Garman in delivering energy legislation to the President this Congress.”
