Washington, D.C. – Senate Energy & Natural Resources Chairman Pete V. Domenici and House Energy & Commerce Chairman Billy Tauzin today announced plans to hold a conference meeting Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. in SD-106. The chairmen issued the following joint statement: “We have scheduled a conference meeting for Tuesday morning. The tax writers should have completed their work on the tax provisions in time to meet that schedule. We will provide conference language to all House and Senate conferees – Republican and Democrat – 48 hours in advance of the conference. We plan to make the language public Sunday morning. “We see no reason final passage of the bill can’t occur soon after conference is completed. “Members of Congress have spent the past three years negotiating the resolution of difficult, regional issues in the bill. We are on the verge of passing a comprehensive energy bill for the first time since 1992.” ###
