ENERGY COMMITTEE APPROVES HYDROGEN, RENEWABLE AND EFFICIENCY TITLES AT TODAY’S MARK-UP

On track to finish oil, gas, nuclear and other titles this week

Washington, D.C. – The Senate Energy Committee today adopted without objection the following titles: Hydrogen as amended (Title VIII), Renewable Energy as amended (Title V) Energy Efficiency as amended (Title VI) State Energy Programs as amended (Title XII) and the Chairman’s Mark on Personnel and Training (Title X.) Chairman Domenici’s statement: “I am very pleased with today’s mark-up. It was swift, focused and cordial. We did a lot of work in short order. Most of the amendments offered were approved by joint staff and adopted without objection. I commend the Members and the staff for a successful first day of mark-up on a comprehensive energy bill. “I look forward to equally productive business meetings the rest of the week. Tomorrow, we consider oil, gas and coal titles. Thursday, we will work nuclear energy and climate change provisions. “I intend to report a comprehensive energy bill out of committee on May 1 as scheduled.” ###
