Washington, D.C. - The Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee may hold a business meeting next week. If a business meeting is held, a short list of items to be acted on will be made public the day before the meeting. The short list would be drawn from the full agenda of nominations and bills listed below: To consider the nomination of Karen Alderman Harbert to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy for International Affairs and Domestic Policy. To consider the nomination of John Spitaleri Shaw to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy for Environment, Safety and Health. S. 738 - A bill to designate certain public lands in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, Lake, Napa, and Yolo Counties in the State of California as wilderness, to designate certain segments of the Black Butte River in Mendocino County, California as a wild or scenic river, and for other purposes. S. 849 - A bill to provide for a land exchange in the State of Arizona between the Secretary of Agriculture and Yavapai Ranch Limited Partnership. S. 993 - A bill to amend the Small Reclamation Projects Act of 1956, and for other purposes. S. 1064 - A bill to establish a commission to commemorate the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War, and for other purposes. S. 1209 - A bill to provide for the acquisition of property in Washington County, Utah, for implementation of a desert tortoise habitat conservation plan. S. 1354 - A bill to resolve certain conveyances and provide for alternative land selections under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act related to Cape Fox Corporation and Sealaska Corporation, and for other purposes. S. 1420 - A bill to establish terms and conditions for use of certain Federal land by outfitters and to facilitate public opportunities for the recreational use and enjoyment of such land. S. 1433 - A bill to authorize the Secretary of the Interior to provide assistance in implementing cultural heritage, conservation, and recreational activities in the Connecticut River watershed of the States of New Hampshire and Vermont. S. 1462 - A bill to adjust the boundary of the Cumberland Island Wilderness, to authorize tours of the Cumberland Island National Seashore, and for other purposes. S. 1466 - A bill to facilitate the transfer of land in the State of Alaska, and for other purposes. S. 1649 - A bill to designate the Ojito Wilderness Study Area as wilderness, to take certain land into trust for the Pueblo of Zia, and for other purposes. S. 2086 - A bill to amend the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 to improve the reclamation of abandoned mines. S. 2317 - A bill to limit the royalty on soda ash. H.R. 762 - To amend the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 and the Mineral Leasing Act to clarify the method by which the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture determine the fair market value of certain rights-of-way granted, issued, or renewed under these Acts. H.R. 961 - To promote Department of the Interior efforts to provide a scientific basis for the management of sediment and nutrient loss in the Upper Mississippi River Basin, and for other purposes.
