COMITTEE APPROVES SUSAN JOHNSON GRANT NOMINATION, AND FOUR BILLS BY UNANIMOUS CONSENT AT TODAY'S BUSINESS MEETING

Washington, D.C. – The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today approved the nomination of Susan Johnson Grant as the Chief Financial Officer at the Department of Energy and four bills, S. 1307, S. 1355. S. 1421, and H.R. 2696. The committee approved all five matters by unanimous consent during a 11:30 a.m. business meeting this morning in SD-366. S. 1307 as amended: authorizes the Secretary of Interior, acting through the Bureau of Reclamation, to assist in the implementation of fish passage and screening facilities at non-Federal water projects. S. 1355 as amended: authorizes the Bureau of Reclamation to participate in the rehabilitation of the Wallowa Lake Dam in Oregon. S. 1421 as amended: authorizes the subdivision and dedication of restricted land owned by Alaska Natives. H.R. 2696: establishes Institutes to demonstrate and promote the use of adaptive ecosystem management to reduce the risk of wildfires, and restore the health of fire-adapted and woodland ecosystems of the interior West.
