After wasting much of this week fussing over whom can marry who, something worthwhile happened on the floor of the United States Senate today: Party leaders agreed to begin conferencing the FSC/ETI corporate tax bill -- legislation that includes the bipartisan energy tax package. Sen. Bingaman, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, top Democrat on the Senate Energy Committee, major author and champion of these energy tax incentives and the first to suggest they be added to the FSC/ETI bill, will be a conferee.
