Ø On Wednesday, Jan. 24, the full Committee will hear testimony on the Energy Information Administration’s analysis of Sen. Bingaman’s draft global warming bill. Witnesses are EIA Deputy Administrator Howard Gruenspecht; National Commission on Energy Policy Executive Director Jason Grumet; Natural Resources Defense Council Science Director Daniel Lashof; CRA International Vice President Anne Smith; and PNM Chairman/President/CEO Jeff Sterba. Ø Also on Wednesday, Jan. 24, the full Committee will hold its organizational business meeting during a pause in the EIA hearing. A funding resolution and rule changes will be voted and subcommittee assignments ratified. Dirksen 366.
Ø On Thursday, Jan. 25, the full Committee holds a hearing on oil and gas resources on the Outer Continental Shelf and areas available for leasing in the Gulf of Mexico. Witnesses include Interior Department Assistant Secretary C. Stephen Allred; New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Lisa Jackson; Chevron Vice President for Deepwater Paul Siegele; Devon Energy Chairman/President/CEO Larry Nichols; Sierra Club Director of Lands Protection Athen Manuel; Louisiana Assistant Secretary for Mineral Resources Marjorie McKeithen.
