v On Tuesday, Dec. 15, the full committee will receive testimony on S. 2052, which amends the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to require the Secretary of Energy to carry out a research and development and demonstration program to reduce manufacturing and construction costs relating to nuclear reactors, and S. 2812, the Nuclear Power 2021 Act, which directs the Department of Energy to design, develop and certify innovative, low-cost nuclear reactors. Witnesses will include Pete Miller, assistant secretary, Office of Nuclear Energy, Department of Energy; Tom Sanders, president, American Nuclear Society; Tony Pietrangelo, senior vice president and chief nuclear officer, Nuclear Energy Institute, and Michael Johnson, director, Office of New Reactors, Nuclear Regulatory Commission. v On Thursday, Dec. 17, the Subcommittee on Public Lands and Forests will receive testimony on S. 1470, to sustain the economic development and recreational use of National Forest System land and other public land in Montana, to add certain land to the National Wilderness Preservation System, to release certain wilderness study areas and to designate new areas for recreation; S. 1719, to convey certain parcels of land to the town of Alta, Utah; S. 1787, to reauthorize the Federal Land Transaction Facilitation Act; H.R. 762, to validate final patent number 27-2005-0081; and H.R. 934, to convey certain submerged lands to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
