On Wednesday, April 27, the full committee will hold a field hearing in Santa Fe, NM, to receive testimony on current drought conditions affecting New Mexico, and the status of reports to be issued pursuant to the SECURE Water Act. Witnesses include Dr. David DuBois, New Mexico state climatologist, New Mexico State University; Estevan López, New Mexico deputy state engineer and director, Interstate Stream Commission; Corbin Newman Jr., regional forester, U.S. Forest Service; The Honorable Michael Connor, commissioner, Bureau of Reclamation; Dr. Jonathan T. Overpeck, co-director, Institute of the Environment at the University of Arizona; and Dr. Brian H. Hurd, associate professor, New Mexico State University.
