Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear ye!

It is always rewarding to see Senate Energy Committee staff advance to positions of increasing responsibility and professional growth.  So, we are pleased to share today’s good news about Rosemarie Calabro Tully.

As our press secretary, Rosemarie did a phenomenal job of helping manage Senate Energy’s press activities, including making sure that our website remained best in class, keeping staff current on what is being reported in our world, introducing our Twitter service and handling the sometimes prickly personalities of reporters with great aplomb.  Please join Chairman Bingaman in congratulating Rosemarie for her move to another great team in town, the Bipartisan Policy Center.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Bipartisan Policy Center Welcomes New Energy Press Secretary Rosemarie Calabro Tully

Washington, D.C. The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is pleased to announce that Rosemarie Calabro Tully has joined its staff as Energy Press Secretary.  In this role, she will support the work of BPC’s Energy Project.

Previously, Calabro Tully was press secretary for the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and has been a member of the committee staff since 2007.

“Rosemarie’s knowledge of energy issues will be of enormous value to our Energy Project as it prepares to release several new reports later this year and in early 2013,” said Margot Anderson, Executive Director of BPC’s Energy Project.  “We very much look forward to gleaning from the experience Rosemarie gained during her tenure on Capitol Hill.”

BPC also announced that Paul Bledsoe will be leaving the organization later this month to become an independent consultant.  Bledsoe has served as a Senior Advisor to BPC supporting a number of its policy programs, including energy.

“We are deeply grateful for Paul’s service to BPC since its founding, and wish him all the best in his new endeavors,” said BPC President Jason S. Grumet.

BPC’s Energy Project consists of several distinct initiatives, including the Strategic Energy Policy Initiative, which will release a major consensus-based report outlining its policy recommendations early next year.  The Energy Project also includes work on the electric grid, innovation, natural gas and nuclear energy.  The project is co-chaired by former Senators Trent Lott (R-MS) and Byron Dorgan (D-ND), and by former National Security Advisor General Jim Jones (ret.) and Oil Spill Commission Co-chair William K. Reilly.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Rosemarie as the newest member of BPC’s growing communications team,” said Ashley Clark, BPC’s Director of Communications. “BPC is committed to combining politically-balanced policymaking with strong, proactive advocacy and outreach, and I’m confident that our energy portfolio will benefit greatly from her guidance.”
