On Thursday, June 14, the full committee will consider competitiveness and collaboration between the U.S. and China on clean energy. Witnesses include Justin Wu, head of wind industry research, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Hong Kong; Alan Wolff, senior counsel, McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, Washington, DC; Dan Holladay, director of advanced technologies and PV programs, SEMATECH, Albany, NY; and Dr. Derek Scissors, senior research fellow, The Heritage Foundation, Washington, DC. Senate Finance Committee meets next Tuesday, June 12, to explore the impact of tax reform on U.S. energy policy. Finance has held several hearings on how best to reform each respective portion of the Tax Code. This hearing will take a “big picture” look at energy provisions in the Code and examine the role tax incentives play in the energy sector, and if those incentives are appropriate. The hearing begins at 10:00 a.m. in room SD-215 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
