Washington, D.C. – Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Ron Wyden, D-Ore., issued the following statement on the nomination of Michael Connor to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Interior Department.

“Mike Connor is a superb choice to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Interior Department. He has a distinguished history not only as Commissioner of Reclamation, but also in his years as a counsel for the Energy and Natural Resources Committee,” Wyden said. “I’m especially grateful for the fresh thinking and hard work he’s put in trying to address the long-running water resources issues in the Klamath Basin, and I look forward to working with him in his new role.”
