Sen. Daines: Montana’s Natural Resources Essential to Our Way of Life
In the fourth in the series of videos introducing the Republican members of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., today stresses the importance of protecting and managing Montana’s natural resources, while encouraging job creation and economic growth through responsible energy and mineral development.
Sen. Daines highlights Montana’s valuable mineral and energy deposits, while calling for forest management reforms to improve forest health, increase access for sportsmen, help revitalize the timber industry, and provide rural counties with a reliable revenue stream.
“Our pristine glacial peaks and rivers, vibrant forests, wide-open spaces, and rich mineral and energy deposits earn Montana its name as the “Treasure State,” Sen. Daines says. “Montana is setting an example of how domestic energy development can be done in a responsible manner to reduce our dependence on foreign energy while sustaining our resources for future generations.”
Sen. Daines’ full video statement is available on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee website.
