Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Cantwell Announce Upcoming Hearing Schedule

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today announced eight hearings for the coming weeks. The hearings will focus on the near-term outlook for energy and commodity markets, the status of innovative technologies within the automotive and nuclear industries, the recent Presidential Memorandum on mitigation, and energy-related trends in advanced manufacturing and workforce development. In addition, the committee will examine the budget requests of the Department of the Interior, the Department of Energy, and the U.S. Forest Service for fiscal year 2017.   • Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing on the near-term outlook for energy and commodity markets.

  • Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing on the status of innovative technologies within the automotive industry.

  • Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing to conduct oversight on the Presidential Memorandum issued on November 3, 2015 entitled, “Mitigating Impacts on Natural Resources from Development and Encouraging Related Private Investment.”

  • Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing to examine the status of innovative technologies within the nuclear industry.

  • Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing to examine energy-related trends in advanced manufacturing and workforce development.

  • Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing to examine the Department of the Interior’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2017.

  • Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing to examine the Department of Energy’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2017.

  • Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full committee hearing to examine the U.S. Forest Service’s budget request for Fiscal Year 2017.

All hearings will be held in Room 366 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. and webcast live on the committee’s website. Witness testimony will be available online immediately before the start of each hearing.
