Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Cantwell Announce Upcoming Hearing Schedule
The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today announced three hearings over the next three weeks. The full committee will examine the President’s recent memorandum on mitigation and the effects that it would have on domestic energy production. The Subcommittee on National Parks will examine 24 pieces of legislation related to issues within its jurisdiction. The committee will also hold a field hearing in Fairbanks, Alaska, on opportunities to create jobs and strengthen national security through energy production in Alaska. - Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. EDT – Full Committee hearing to conduct oversight on the Presidential Memorandum issued on November 3, 2015 entitled, “Mitigating Impacts on Natural Resources from Development and Encouraging Related Private Investment.”
- Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. EDT – Subcommittee on National Parks legislative hearing on 24 bills.
- Monday, March 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. AKST – Full Committee field hearing to examine Alaska resources development and opportunities to create jobs and strengthen national security.
The hearings on March 15 and March 17 will be held in Room 366 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. and webcast live on the committee’s website.
The field hearing on March 28 will be held at the Fairbanks Pipeline Training Center.
Witness testimony will be available online immediately before the start of each hearing.
