Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Cantwell Announce Upcoming Hearing Schedule
U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., today announced six upcoming hearings that will be held by the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. The full committee will conduct oversight on issues facing U.S.-affiliated islands and on the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), examine the status of innovative technologies in advanced manufacturing, and review the challenges and opportunities for oil and gas development in different price environments.
The full committee will also examine options for addressing the continuing lack of reliable emergency medical transportation for the isolated community of King Cove, Alaska, and the Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests and Mining will consider the Bureau of Land Management’s proposed “Waste Prevention, Production Subject to Royalties, and Resources Conservation” rule.
- Tuesday, April 5, at 10 a.m. – Full committee hearing to conduct oversight on issues facing U.S.-affiliated islands and to consider two measures relating to U.S.-affiliated islands.

- Thursday, April 7, at 10 a.m. – Full committee hearing to conduct oversight of the U.S. Geological Survey.
- Tuesday, April 12, at 10 a.m. – Full committee hearing to examine the status of innovative technologies in advanced manufacturing.
- Thursday, April 14, at 10 a.m. – Full committee hearing to conduct oversight on options for addressing the continuing lack of reliable emergency medical transportation for the isolated community of King Cove, Alaska.
- Thursday, April 14, at 2:30 p.m. – Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests and Mining hearing to receive testimony on the Bureau of Land Management’s proposed rule, entitled “Waste Prevention, Production Subject to Royalties, and Resources Conservation,” published in the Federal Register on February 8, 2016.
- Tuesday, April 19, at 10 a.m. – Full committee hearing to examine the challenges and opportunities for oil and gas development in different price environments.
All hearings will be held in Room 366 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. and webcast live on the committee’s website. Witness testimony will be available online immediately before the start of each hearing.
