Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Cantwell Announce Upcoming Hearing Schedule

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee today announced two hearings that will be held in the coming weeks. The Full Committee will receive testimony on the discussion draft of the “Wildfire Budgeting, Response and Forest Management Act,” and the Subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests and Mining will examine the Bureau of Land Management’s actions concerning sage grouse conservation.   • Thursday, June 23 at 10 a.m. – Full Committee hearing to receive testimony on the discussion draft entitled the “Wildfire Budgeting, Response and Forest Management Act of 2016.”  

  • Tuesday, June 28 at 2:30 p.m. – Public Lands, Forests and Mining Subcommittee hearing to conduct oversight on the status of the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service’s efforts to implement amendments to land use plans and specific management plans regarding sage grouse conservation, and those agencies’ coordination activities with affected states.

All hearings will be held in Room 366 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C. and webcast live on the committee’s website. Witness testimony will be available online immediately before the start of each hearing.
