Manchin Statement On Confirmation Of Clements And Christie To Be FERC Members

November 30, 2020

Washington, DC – Today, U.S. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), Ranking Member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, released the following statement after the U.S. Senate confirmed by voice vote Ms. Allison Clements and Mr. Mark C. Christie to be Members of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

“After consistently calling for a bipartisan pairing for the two open seats on the Commission, I’m pleased that the Senate simultaneously confirmed Ms. Clements and Mr. Christie. In their hearings before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, both Ms. Clements and Mr. Christie demonstrated an ability to work across the aisle and a shared commitment to the public interest and good energy policy. In a political climate that is often paralyzed by partisanship, a fully seated, bipartisan FERC is more essential than ever. I look forward to working with them both to advance an energy innovation agenda.”
