WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), sent letters to Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland and Senior Counselor to the Secretary Elizabeth Klein asking that they release their official calendar.

In the letters, Barrasso emphasized that the American public should be well-informed on the official activities of the top Department of the Interior (DOI) officials. He asked for copies of Haaland and Klein’s calendars of official activities. He also highlighted the fact that Haaland’s publically available calendar has not been updated in over six months.

Dear Secretary Haaland,

I am requesting a copy of your calendar that details your official activities as Secretary of Interior. It is of note your publically available calendar has not been updated in more than six months.

Ensuring the American public is well-informed of the day-to-day activities of top Department of Interior (Department) officials is important to all citizens who utilize our public lands and whose livelihoods depend on them.

I would like to remind the Department of its policy to respond to Congressional inquiries within 14 days. Therefore, I ask that you provide the requested records no later than November 2, 2021.
