Mat-Su Field Hearing on Federal Land Management Practices and Mitigation Requirements
U.S. Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, both R-Alaska, will host a joint Senate oversight hearing on Monday, August 17, in Wasilla to examine the chilling effect of increased federal mitigation requirements and regulations on economic development on federal, state, and private lands.
The purpose of this joint hearing of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and Senate Environment and Public Works Subcommittee on Fisheries, Water and Wildlife is to receive testimony from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and Environmental Protection Agency on federal mitigation requirements and interagency coordination related to economic development on federal, state, and private lands.
